Video to screenshots

Save any frame of a video as an image at its original resolution. Step frame by frame, or let the tool pull screenshots out for you — then download one, a selection, or all of them as a ZIP.

Three ways to grab frames

Take screenshot

Pause where you want and save the exact frame — no player controls, no status bar.

Frame by frame

Arrow buttons (or ← →) move one frame at a time; Shift jumps a second.

Auto extract

Every N seconds, N evenly spaced, or whenever the picture changes — with blur and duplicate checks.

Screenshots taken with your phone’s buttons are limited to the screen’s resolution and include whatever is on top of the video. Extracting the frame from the file itself keeps every pixel the video has — a 4K video gives a 3840 × 2160 image, an 8K video 7680 × 4320.

Recorded a scroll and want it as one tall image instead? Use thelong screenshot tool — it stitches a scrolling screen recording into a single long screenshot.

Frequently asked questions

How do I take a screenshot of a video on iPhone?

Pausing and pressing the side button captures the screen — including the player controls, at screen resolution. Open the video here instead, pause on the frame you want (use the frame arrows to fine-tune) and tap Take screenshot (or press S). You get the clean frame at the video’s own resolution.

Are the screenshots full quality?

Yes. Frames are saved at the video’s original width and height — 1080p, 4K or up to 8K if your browser can play the file. PNG is lossless; JPG and WebP are smaller with a quality setting you choose.

Can I extract every frame of a video?

Choose Every N seconds and set a very small interval (one frame is 1 ÷ frame rate, e.g. 0.033 s at 30 fps). Each run is limited to 500 screenshots so the browser doesn’t run out of memory.

What does “when the picture changes” do?

It scans the video and takes a screenshot only when the image changes noticeably — useful for slides, tutorials and screen recordings where the picture stays still for a while. Sensitivity controls how big a change must be.

Is my video uploaded?

No. The video plays from your device’s memory and frames are saved by your browser. The page’s security policy blocks it from sending any data. See privacy.

Why won’t my video open?

The tool can read anything your browser can play. iPhone HEVC (H.265) videos play in Safari; on Windows, Chrome and Edge need Microsoft’s HEVC Video Extensions. 8K needs a computer with enough memory — phones usually can’t decode it.
